February 2023
Wow… I have a website. It’s kind of surreal as someone who started writing fiction on a bit of a whim to now have editors and publishers recommending that I build this site.
My first fiction story, Ale for Humanity, was published in June 2018 in the anthology Second Round: A Return to the Ur-Bar, from Zombies Need Brains, LLC. I am so appreciative that Josh Palmatier and the ZNB team accepted my story and worked with me through what started as minor edits that I turned into a major rewrite. I had no idea what I was doing (and often times still don’t) but the ZNB team was the perfect fit for me to start, and with that first publication, I was hooked.
My tenth published short story is slated for inclusion in an anthology I’m very excited about, as I helped generate the concept based on a photo posted to Facebook by R.E. Sargent from the Sinister Smile Press team. The anthology Dead Hookers in Gas Station Bathrooms: Road Trip Horror is slated for release in June 2023 and features my short story, Dead Air. This numbered, limited edition anthology is certain to raise the pulse and give you shivers.
I promise not all of my posts will be about my stories. I’ll use this space to feature what I’m reading, promote other writers, and highlight the smaller publishers who are putting out some of the best horror and dark fiction on the market. Though I’m not a reviewer, I’ll also share my thoughts on works recently released as I get through in my ever-growing TBR (to be read) pile.
The time has come to part ways for the evening. Fix your favorite drink, turn the lights down low, and curl up with your favorite horror or dark tale. Don’t mind the upstairs window rattling in the wind, or the creaking stairs. That wasn’t the basement door closing. That shadow moving outside the window was just a tree bending in the wind. Its all just your imagination, set into overdrive by the scary stories you’ve read.
Or at least that’s what you hope.
